We are seeking a NPI Engineer to join our Operations team. This role is critical to Cognosos’ growth, as the NPI Engineer will drive our product industrialization process to release high quality, manufacturable products with contract manufacturers and internal production teams. The NPI engineer will create and implement new systems to optimize operational processes across the company, and scale delivery with quality and efficiency. In addition, this role will manage projects to improve return and repair processes, provide sustaining engineering support, and execute projects with internal and external partners to advance Cognosos’ growth. This role is multi-faceted, and is perfect for a technically skilled person with a business mindset, who enjoys working across all departments to make the business run. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive industrialization phase for new product launches, design package release, pilot/PVT builds and production planning with contract manufacturers and key suppliers.
• Work closely with design engineering and production teams to review product manufacturability/DFM
• Monitor production yield and ensure product quality goals are met
• Review and implement change orders (ECR/ECO)
• Develop production and provisioning processes and tools for all fulfillment activities.
• Refine product return (RMA) processes, root cause analysis, develop repair procedures and train technicians, and manage monthly reporting
• Provide sustaining engineering as required
• Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities
• Manage contract manufacturers and key suppliers as required
• ERP Implementation support
• Support logistic needs with requirements analysis, process development

Please note: this is an in-office position and you will be expected to work from our Atlanta office at least four days a week.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years experience working with electronic products in a design or production environment, wireless product experience is desired
• Competence and experience with electronic assembly and test processes
• Awareness of design phase processes and selection of electronic and mechanical components, and vendors
• Familiarity with DFM, quality control processes and statistical process control (yellow/green/black belt a plus)
• Able to independently lead discussion with 3rd party vendors and suppliers
• Experience with lifecycle management processes such as ECR and ECO (Arena Solutions preferred)
• Competent writing Python for data analysis, API control or equipment control
• Advanced user of Excel or similar tools for technical and business analysis
• Strong user of Microsoft office tools or equivalent
• Experience using an ERP system desired
• Working knowledge of accounting related processes for purchasing and inventory
• BS Engineering
