Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA). The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology. We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market. The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

The NPI Sourcing manager will be leading technical sourcing, supplier relationship management and supplier program management of technical components, subsystems, and systems that are developed with and/or procured from our supply chain. Role will primarily support R&D and Engineering teams at our growing Headquarters-2 in Ann Arbor, MI. This is an opportunity to join a growing strategic supply chain team that directly impacts change across our global supply base and within KLA!

Job Duties:

  • Lead the supplier selection process for assigned categories and programs which includes identifying suppliers, generating interest, coordinating meetings / visits / audits between engineering and suppliers, developing RFP/RFQ, securing and negotiating the quotes/proposals, driving internal consensus for the final selection
  • Negotiate NDA's, Development Agreements and Purchase Agreements with standard templates as a starting point
  • Gain full proficiency in PLC (Product Life Cycle) process and participate in meetings to represent the Strategic Supply Chain.
  • Ability to engage and lead sustaining suppliers on an as needed basis.
  • Partner with Engineering and/or Manufacturing operations team to conduct Make vs. Buy analysis on the categories assigned.
  • Providing R&D teams with up front commercial evaluations of the technical requirements that are being considered
  • Lead the early involvement of new and key suppliers in our R&D and NPI programs
  • Act as a project manager to lead the execution on a periodic basis, working with the engineering team, to ensure conformance to original lead time and cost estimates
  • Drive issue resolutions through 8D or other RCCA processes to keep the project on track

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years in Global Supply Chain/Procurement or 6 years of a relevant technical field with 2 years of Supply Chain/Procurement experience. Relevant technical specialties may include the following: technical sales, R&D engineering, program management or new product introduction (NPI)
  • Persuasive communication to influence and implement central sourcing initiatives at executive and working level globally
  • Implement sourcing strategies that map to and support overall business strategies.
  • Develop and negotiate RFQ/RFP on sophisticated modules to include NRE and production pricing.
  • Work multi-functionally between internal groups to achieve common business objectives
  • On-site presence at KLA Ann Arbor is required at least 3 days per week.
  • Domestic and international travel is required (15% - 30%)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with +8 years' work experience, OR Master's degree with +6 years' work experience, OR PhD with +3 years' work experience
