Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Leads PDP(NPI), Dual Sourcing, Cost Reduction programs/projects from Sourcing lane.
- Present sourcing, cost, supplier/part risk, lead time reduction, capacity initiatives to key stakeholders, management, and internal customers
- Influence others across a matrix of functions throughout the program/projects.
- Leads Materials Core Team and coordinates product development process deliverables through matrix management of CBM's, engineers, mfg., buyers, planners, and production control. Collaborates with engineering team to interpret engineering requirements.
- With limited supervision, creates, releases and updates new project materials strategy.
- Use standard tools, dashboards and BKMs to assess supplier capability, including regional capabilities, overall capacity, ability to support rapid demand increase, prototyping (NPI), ability to support volume manufacturing, and vertical integration (e.g. parts, cleaning, assembly capabilities) to aid in making sustainable sourcing decisions.
- Develop and leverage process maps for critical parts to streamline the supply chain and understand and mitigate capacity constraints. Drive dual sourcing activities to mitigate supply risk.
- Establish new-part lead times, understand long-lead drivers and develop lead time mitigation strategies
- Ensure that product lifecycle programs (PLC) are meeting material cost targets and Gross Margin targets; facilitate and maintain Cost Apportionment Models.
- Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations; under direct supervision may negotiate contracts as necessary. Utilizes the preferred supplier selection and assessment process when selecting suppliers.
- Works with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts and inspection requirements. Assists/leads in developing supplier and commodity road maps to engineering.
- Facilitate early engagement between supplier and AMAT DFx team to drive manufacturability, repeatability cost and lead time improvements. Utilizes value analysis on build-to-print components in support of Should Cost analysis.
- Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers. Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
- Manages materials change control process. Meets cost objectives and resolves quality issues. Generates and publishes Key Process Indicators. Tracks total landed costs targets.
- Identify make vs. buy opportunities and drive alignment/decision with key stakeholders.
- Analyze BOM cost to identify cost reduction opportunities through design, content reduction/should cost and commercial means; track and ensure timeline implementation of such opportunities.
- Actively mediates and partners with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues for assigned product groups. Escalate issues to Commodity Business Managers when necessary.

Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronics preferred) or MBA, with 5+ years of experience
- Either Bachelor's degree must be Engineering related or a Master's Degree
- MBA is a plus

U.S. Salary Range:
$100,000.00 - $137,500.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
