NP/PA, Stroke & Thrombosis Pro

The NP/PA functions collaboratively with physicians in the Hematology and Neurology Program. The NP/PA autonomously performs patient assessments, diagnosis and implements an appropriate plan of care as defined by approved protocols. The NP/PA prescribes a variety of treatment modalities to meet patient care needs in the defined patient population up to and including hospital admissions/discharges, clinic visits and prescriptive authority. The NP/PA delivers competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs. Care is based on the nursing process and the medical plan of treatment. The NP/PA will deliver care with a team orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.

Education & Experience

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses • Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. • Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.

Physician Assistants • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. • Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.

Current Texas professional registered nurse license Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license Certified as a PNP or FNP Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (As of October 1, 2019)
