NP/PA - UCC

The APP will function in a collaborative independent practice with the physician(s) in an Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) setting. The APP will autonomously perform patient assessments, form diagnoses and interventions according to approved protocols and evidence based medicine. The APP will treat an average number of UCC patients per hour based on the requirements per UCC policy. The APP will prescribe a variety of modalities to meet the needs of the patient and families presenting to the UCC, up to and including, discharge from the UCC or facilitation of a referral and/or transport to a facility of a higher level of care and prescriptive authority. The APP will supervise clinic personnel as needed.

Education and Experience

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

• Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
• Preference given to APPs with critical care, ED or urgent care experience.

OR

Physician Assistants

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
• Preference given to APPs with critical care, ED or urgent care experience.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Current Texas professional registered nurse license Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license Certified as a FNP or PNP Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (as of October 1, 2019)

OR

Physician Assistants Current Texas professional physician assistant license Certified or re-certified as a PA-C Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (as of October 1, 2019)
