Nurse Educator
Job Description
Job Summary
The Nurse Educator is responsible for managing and directing the activities related to the education of Registered Nurses, LPNs and Mental Health Technicians in established standards of care, mental health practice and facility policy, goals, and objectives. This position contributes to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and quality improvement efforts, while providing guidance.
Duties
• Develop and implement educational programs tailored to the needs of nursing staff.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through assessments and feedback.
• Provide mentorship and support to nurses in their professional development.
• Ensure all educational content complies with HIPAA regulations and maintains confidentiality of medical records.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify knowledge gaps and create targeted training solutions.
• Stay updated on current trends in nursing education and healthcare practices.
Education:
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required, Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience:
• A minimum of one year of charge nurse/leadership experience is preferred.
• Management and nursing education experience in a psychiatric health-care facility is also preferred.
Licensure:
• RN must have license to practice by state board of nursing.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
Additional Requirements:
• CPR (AED) and Handle with Care & Verbal De-Escalation Training is required within 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission/CMS, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Successful completion of Show of Support, including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint.
• Successful completion of skills lab.
• Must pass a medication administration exam.
This position is essential for fostering a knowledgeable nursing workforce capable of delivering high-quality patient care.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47.00 - $79.93 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
