Nurse Practitioner / Cardiology

Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio is seeking an acute nurse practitioner to join our busy Cardiology Group. You would work in a 424-bed regional referral center with a catchment of 480,000.

Highlights:

• Clinic follow-up appointments
• Collaboration with electrophysiology (EP), congestive heart failure (CHF), cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery, and structural heart
• Opportunity to participate in/present at Cardiology Grand Rounds, the Annual Cardiovascular Symposium, and other public events.
• Help the cardiology service line to provide patient access in a timely manner.
• Coordinate patient care. Counsel patients about concerns under the direction of the supervising physician(s).
• Perform physical assessments on patients and complete patient histories.
• Complete discharge summaries.
• Order medications, treatments, labs, etc. as described and permitted under the Ohio State Medical Board supervision agreement and the Mercy Health St. Rita’s credentialing boards.
• Be available for call about patient conditions according to the pre-established schedule.
• Other duties as determined by the supervising physician(s).

Education and skills required:

• Current Licensure with the State of Ohio – Acute NP.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to provide excellent patient care.
