Nurse Practitioner / Surgery - Bariatric

Bon Secours Surgical Specialists on Healthy Way in Virginia Beach is adding a Bariatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner to the team!

• Location is close to Princess Anne Blvd and I-264 with easy access and lots of parking and amenities nearby.
• The position is open to new grads WITH PREVIOUS WORK HISTORY in a surgical setting, a history with weight loss care, bariatric surgery and reflux
• The provider team is 2 MD and 3 NP
• Work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Nurse Practitioner will see ambulatory clinic patients.
• NO CALL
• Nurse Practitioner will be supporting Bariatric Medicine practice through the care of all bariatric patients including Medical Weight Loss, medications and meal replacment products. Candidate should be comfortable with patient evaluation for surgical and non-surgical treatments and contraindications to medications due to comorbidities.
• You'll be providing patient education, working in collaboration with other providers, dieticians and clinical staff and assisting with patient messages.
• Mentorship is available
• Average patient volume is 16-22 per day
• Patients range in age from early 20's through mid-60's currently
• EPIC EMR and virtual visits through MyChart
• The ideal candidate to join our team will see patients in a timely fashion, complete charting within 24 hours of encounter per policy.
• Superior candidates will be a clinical leader and support to all clinical staff including CMAs - be respectful of co workers and patients alike.
