The Nurse Practitioner will be involved in the care of all patient admitted to our inpatient service, ranging from the critically ill, unstable ICU patients to floor patients. The Nurse Practitioner will see patients in the emergency room, in the intensive care unit, in the intermediate care unit and on the telemetry and medical / surgical floors. The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the doctor on call for Neurosurgery. The number of patients seen by the Nurse Practitioner will vary on a daily basis. We estimate that he / she will see between ten and twenty-five patients per day. The Nurse Practitioner may be responsible for initial history and physical examinations, admissions orders, daily progress notes, daily medical orders, transfer orders to various unit and consultation with other health care members.
