Nutanix Systems Engineer

Expedient is hiring a Nutanix Systems Engineer to join the Product and Platform Reliability team. This team is responsible for the design of the Nutanix AHV cloud offering as well as for maintaining service reliability as Expedient implements private cloud services for clients. This position will develop, test and validate processes and tools to migrate clients from their existing in-house data centers or from other service providers to Expedient.

While working directly with Expedient clients and cross-functional internal teams, this position will focus on quality metrics related to change management, patch management, version control, and workload migrations of cloud computing and disaster recovery services. 
Responsibilities:

• Ensure platform lifecycle standards are met for production infrastructure on Expedient cloud managed services supporting existing client workloads as adoption and services increase.
• Create implementation guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure change management standards and quality steps are met.
• Optimize and balance client and infrastructure virtual workloads and integrated services in each market within agreed time frames.
• Technical escalation point for the team and clients, responsible for working with our vendor and partner support teams to work problems to resolution.
• Collaboration and cooperation with Expedient engineering teams regarding cloud platforms and service implementation and support challenges, security vulnerabilities, implementation cycles, and end of life decommissions.
• Ensure appropriate documentation is generated, maintained, and delivered as you work with the to the Operations Support Center (OSC), Service Delivery, and Platform Engineering teams.
• Communicate with project managers, directly with clients and internal staff at regular intervals to ensure expectations are set and that appropriate attention is considered and reviewed.

Technical Experience:

• 3+ years as a systems administrator or Technician responsible for Managed Service Provider (preferred) or Enterprise
• Demonstrates a level of competency with many of the following technologies:
  
  • Nutanix Product Suite: AHV Hypervisor, AOS storage, and Flow Network
  • Automation and development experience is a plus
  • Enterprise disaster recovery technology
  • Data protection and recovery software, validation of scheduled workflows
  • Linux and Windows operating systems and authentication processes
  • Security and compliance practices
  • Networking principles, firewall rules, IP addressing and VLANs
• Skills:

Salary for this position is directly related to your own experience and skill. Estimated range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000
