Nutrition Sales Director - North America
Job Description
The Nutrition Sales Director grows the Nutrition business by• Engaging existing Nutrition customers to deepen the cross-functional relationships they have with Bunge, resulting in an increased "share of wallet"• Creating commercial opportunities with new Nutrition customers• Shaping, through her/his participation, regional or global projects on strategy, go-to-market organization growth, innovation, and product launch• Developing a team environment of collaboration, accountability, and connectivity with functions and geographies outside the boundaries of Nutrition North America
Main Accountabilities:
- Develop, and adapt when needed, the go-to-market strategy for the Nutrition business in North America, in collaboration with key members of the Bunge Food Solutions North America Leadership Team and the Nutrition VP
- Build the market insights necessary to develop the go-to-market strategy by engaging internal and external resources
- Segment and prioritize sub-categories within Infant and Adult Nutrition
- Target customers and their addressable business potential
- Develop a distributor strategy
- Articulate capabilities required to execute
- Plan the future structure and resources for the commercial team (sales and sales support)
- Prepare a roadmap for execution
- Lead existing Nutrition Accounts in North America and manage performance to increase share of wallet and contribution margin
- Develop a strategic account plan
- Identify opportunities to expand business
- Draw up commercial proposals to be discussed and approved by the Nutrition VP
- Monitor and report customer activities, including sales vs. budget, issues, accomplishments, and up-coming events (e.g., tenders, price negotiations, new product formulation development, etc.)
- Develop the sales forecast and support supply chain team to optimize the stock, and ensure stable supply
- Coordinate Sales Support staff to perform after-sales follow-up and monitor customer satisfaction
- Current account responsibilities include developing account plans and expanding business in North America and/or a global scale
- Develop ways of working with the Protein Team and the Specialty Ingredients team to serve Nutrition customers with a complete portfolio while showing a "single face" to the customer
- Collaborate with the Nutrition BU VP and the Nutrition Business Development Director to develop the BU story to update the BLC Leadership Team and Bunge's leadership and Board
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Sales experience in life science, adult nutrition, sports nutrition, or infant nutrition strongly preferred
- MBA or advanced degree; top-tiered institutions preferred
- 10+ years' experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role (direct or indirect)
- Ability to travel up to 2 weeks a month to customer locations and, occasionally, internationally
- Strategic thinking, i.e., analyzing and applying a broad organizational and business perspective to identify and maintain focus on key drivers of current and future organizational performance
- Ability to integrate market insights, knowledge of asset capabilities, and understanding of the organization's skills into execution plans to grow the Nutrition BU's P&L
- Ability to take decisions under uncertainty through a hypothesis-driven approach
- Understanding of pricing levers and expert in contract negotiation
- Ability to develop high-quality written materials (e.g., memoranda) and presentations for customers and Bunge management meetings
- Good presentation skills in front of customers' top and middle management
- Additional skills that would add value to the role
- Basic understanding of life sciences & chemistry to develop technical knowledge of nutrition ingredients and the industry
- Understanding and ability to perform independently financial analyses, and to control quality on analyses performed by others (e.g., top- and bottom-line forecasting, pricing variance analyses, etc.)
