Job Summary:

Fosters and develops a positive image of the Company to its various publics, including customers, potential customers, employees, potential employees, the news media and the public at large. Supervises and provides editorial and graphical direction for all external/internal Company publications, public events, advertising and industry conferences. This position will typically work under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Researches marketing data in support of business development and marketing objectives using internal and external sources, such as Company data, electronic sources (Internet and databases to which Cubic and its subscribes, etc.), and government provided information• Plans, develops and implements a system to manage timely dissemination of important market research information as assigned to the business development and marketing staff, as well as senior management and product groups• Manages and participates in the development and scheduling of trade show activities• Oversees development/writing/production of collateral materials, e.g., brochures, data sheets• Oversees development/production of advertising campaigns and placements in trade publications• Prepares annual budget for communications effort, approve expenditures and review budget to control expenses• Develops and implements public relations strategies, including assisting subsidiaries and field offices in localized efforts• Interfaces with Corporate PR Department for distribution of press releases to media• Supervises production of customer newsletter• Supervises graphics personnel provided by the Communications Dept.• Oversees coordination of customer demonstrations/presentations

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree or equivalent in journalism, public relations, communication or marketing, plus a minimum of eight years of experience in news media and/or public relations in a product environment. Direct media experience is desirable. Knowledge of video processes, material, script-writing requirements, as well as up-to-date production technology. Complete understanding of newspaper style and format. Ability to write technical, often complex material in a clear understandable manner for news media and internal sources. Ability to produce professional, high-quality news releases that satisfy Company and media requirements. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management to obtain cooperation and information essential to development of media materials. Able to prioritize work, execute and complete multiple tasks, and work under tight, often difficult, deadlines.
