Job Description

RESPONSIBIITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Develops and executes a strategic account plan to achieve targeted business development, growth and profitability goals. Ensures all prospects and customers receive the level of attention appropriate to their business potential. Regularly monitors progress against the plan and makes modifications, as required, throughout the year.
  • Builds successful relationships with key decision makers and influencers in existing and prospective customers.
  • Is a key participant in new project or product cross-functional team meetings. Consults with Engineering, Purchasing, Service and QA departments at OEM account level on existing and new product development. Works with engineering to ensure product design meets customer expectations. (i.e. reliability, aesthetics, customer requirements, regulatory requirements etc.)
  • Uses a systematic approach process to move opportunities through the pipeline, ensuring each step is conducted and complete in a satisfactory manner prior to moving to the next step/stage.
  • Generates proposals/quotations, independently or with the assistance of other sales functions, in accordance with standard procedures and pricing guidelines. Develops consensus with customers on PTI value proposition(s) prior to solution building. Ensures proposal meets customer needs and clearly presents PTI's value proposition.
  • Uses CRM on a daily basis for all lead, contact, activity, forecasting, account management and time management monitoring, recording and reporting functions.
  • Responds promptly to inquiries and seeks out and calls upon customers to identify their needs for products and qualifies leads. Directs customer inquiries and orders to the most efficient sales channel.
  • Monitors and responds to competitor activities at prospects and provides timely reporting on competitive activity to sales management.
  • Investigates complaints and product concerns. Partners with appropriate company departments, such as Engineering and Quality, to ensure corrective action.
  • Assists finance in collection of delinquent accounts.
  • Establishes effective communication network between customer and company concerning forecast and purchase order requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance, with respect to product application, to internal and external marketing representatives and customers.
  • Performs administrative responsibilities in connection with sales accountabilities, as required.
