Boston-based company Piaggio Fast Forward Inc. (PFF) was founded in 2015 by the Piaggio Group - the Italian manufacturer that created the iconic Vespa scooter. We are on a mission to build technology products that move the way that people move. 

As PFF’s OEM Sales Senior Director, you are driven by strong commercial acumen and have a background in building sales from the ground up. Initially the role will be a hands-on individual contributor role  operating with a high level of independence building an opportunity pipeline into a sales funnel and executing a sales plan based on a 30/60/90/120  day plan of your design. Upon successful delivery and execution  - a big part of the role will be adding members to your team to support sales growth.

What You'll Do
The role will be divided between two product groups for which the Senior Director will responsible for creating and executing the sales strategy 

  • PFF Rider Assistance Solutions to two and three wheel vehicle manufacturers globally; and 
  • PFF follow module and PFF kilo solutions to OEM’s, Manufacturing, Integrators, and robot manufacturers initially to the US and expanding to global reach. 

You are a strong team player, a good communicator and a cultural fit for our team.  You are used to operating with a high level of independence delivering results and growing sales activity in a start-up environment and are seasoned with launching and introducing new technologies and solutions to the above mentioned markets.

Your responsibilities span across multiple areas, including 

  • Identifying and defining target markets and customers
  • Defining and fine tuning sales material
  • Defining Sales events and marketing mix
  • Prioritizing sales channels, 
  • Timely generation of the sales forecast, 
  • Creation of annual sales strategies, designed to meet the annual corporate operating plan
  • Ensuring continued growth, and 
  • Within 12 months expand your team with sales professionals to implement and execute on defined strategies. 
  • Drive GTM plans to improve market reach for OEM vehicle radar modules and robotic navigation sensor and compute modules, enhance coverage and optimize resources to achieve quarterly targets and 5-year strategic plan
  • Design and Implement sales objectives and best-in-class strategies (including sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes) in alignment with overall corporate planning cycles and objectives.
  • Leverage the company's CRM (HubSpot) for new and existing leads, best practices for account management, opportunity management, sales reports, contracts. Rollout programs and templates to simplify capture of market data and optimization of sales resource time
  • Build, refine and implement targeting approach to drive new customer acquisition in growth market segments while maintaining current customers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key, high-profile customers and partners at both senior and mid-management levels.
  • Manage activities of OEM partners 
  • Monitor performance of said channels and re-align as required
  • Set annual OEM sales team targets and associated incentive plans.
  • Responsible for completion of the annual and forward-looking OEM Sales Forecast for the North American region.
  • Identify training needs amongst sales and technical staff.
  • Contribute to the annual Operating Plan as well as the overall management of the company through participation in weekly company coordination meetings and attendance at monthly senior management meetings.

What You Need

  • 6+ years of sales experience with technical products and vehicle safety, including international sales 
  • Experience managing both direct sales teams and distribution networks
  • Experience with vehicle safety and machine vision products and solutions 
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficiency in Windows based office tools and CRM systems
  • Comfortable with regular travel
  • Varied working environment depending on the requirements of DALSA
  • Some training opportunities may take place after business hours
