OFAC Sanctions Team Lead

We are currently looking for a OFAC Sanctions Team Lead

Summary

The successful candidate will lead a small team within Sanctions Operations team that's responsible for the sanction screening process for SWIFT messages and wire transactions globally for the organization. Additionally, this individual will oversee the quality control review processes of business units performing OFAC sanctions checks outside of the centralized process.

Major Duties

• Collaborate with Sanction Compliance team with respect to sanction changes and impact to sanction screening process of SWIFT messages, Security transactions, and wire payments.
• Oversee the quality control review processes of business units performing OFAC sanctions checks outside of the centralized process.
• Collaborate with the GES management team with overseeing the Exceptions and Rule process.
• Assist management with projects related to sanction filter upgrades, ISO 20022, patch releases, and testing.
• Assist management with the Risk Model Validation reviews of the sanction screening application.
• Perform the Assessor role for RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment).
• Assist management with Internal Audit and Fed Exam during audits and exams.
• Assist management with maintaining and updating written procedures on the sanction screening processes with applicable laws, rules and standards.
• Conduct the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the team.
• Assist management with determining staffing needs, make hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
• At least 2 years of related work experience; prior work in an OFAC Sanction's role strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and/or previous experience with wire transactions, including understanding SWIFT payments are a plus.
• Knowledge of applicable U.S. Sanctions laws and regulations, usually acquired through formal education or experience, is preferred.
• Acams or Sanctions certification is a plus.
• Experience working with Fircosoft or Sanctions filtering application is a plus.
• Organizational skills required to coordinate compliance activities and training.
