Office Manager

Quick take: Axios is a fast-growing media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring an Office Manager to join our Operations team.

Why it matters: Our Axios workspaces are critical to how employees accomplish work, collaborate and connect. This role ensures our offices run smoothly so all Axions can do their best work while on site.

This role is based at our Arlington, VA headquarters and will also run office operations for shared workspaces that Axios occupies in New York, NY and Charlotte, NC.

Go deeper: Our new Office Manager should be organized, proactive and excited to represent the Axios culture. In this role, you will make an impact to Axios through the following responsibilities:

• Manage office access, including setting up new hires, offboarding departing employees, and coordinating guests. This includes partnering with building security.
  
• Oversee employee identification including issuing employee ID cards, business cards and security fobs.
  
• Serve as reception at headquarters to welcome guests, conduct office tours and manage inbound communication (mail, voicemail).
  
• Oversee facilities in conjunction with our maintenance partners:
• Conduct daily and weekly walk-throughs to ensure office maintenance
• Serve as touchpoint for repairs
• Liaise with cleaning services
• Manage access to building storage
• Ordering and stocking of refreshments
  
• Support employees to take advantage of the office fully, including managing the office Slack channel, coordinating with IT on workstation and conference needs, and maintaining office supplies.

Details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

• 1-2 years professional experience
• Experience using Google Suite products (Gmail, Google Calendar, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for meeting and engaging with Axions and guests
