Job Description
The Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) Profitability Sr. Systems Analyst will be part of a development team supporting profitability solution using OFSAA for Northern Trust. Candidate must have agile experience in Banking and Financial domain. To be successful, candidate must have financial services knowledge, and strong communication skills and should be able to work well as part of a team, but also carry responsibility for your own work. Ability to work on multiple projects at a time, and quickly understand and incorporate new technologies.
- Financial reporting domain knowledge is required (Balance sheet, Income Statement, Financial planning & Forecasting, etc.....)
- Write and debug complex SQL queries from databases (such as Oracle). SQL experience is required for data analysis efforts. Knowledge of Oracle 19c, SQL, PL SQL, Erwin, Data Architecture, Unix Shell Scripting, advanced Performance tuning
- Liaise with business users to understand FTP and profitability requirements and implement requirements in OFSAA Profitability solution. Needs to be able to gather, communicate and write the appropriate level of requirements to be turned into finalized documentation appropriate for developer coding and tester test case/script documentation
- Work with SME and other Business Analyst to build new End-to-End solution, lead tech team ensuring solutions meet all requirements, including operational SLAs
- Configuration of FTP and Profitability rules in OFSAA solution, 5+years of experience on OFSAA - Funds transfer pricing
- Knowledge of IRC (Interest rate code) and ability to configure complex structures
- Experienced in OFSAA Data Foundation
- Experienced in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle. Designs technology solutions by modeling requirements and applying standard application methodology best practices
- Thorough understanding of key business processes and ability to communicate and translate those needs to technical solutions
- Work closely with business partners, technical resources and management (Application Managers, Business Analysts, System Analysts and Development teams)
- Evaluate the risks and solutions before taking action, so that action plans are timely, realistic and positive
- Understand complex SQL queries, analyze data related issues and identify root cause of issues / defects. Develop and implement performance optimal system.
- Maintain the end-to-end OFSAA batch and provide technical support
- Address and triage escalated issues, at off hours from time to time due to 24x6 operational nature. Conduct sessions with Business and vendor in order to report and troubleshoot issues. Troubleshoot technical issues by analyzing OFSAA log files and fixing the issues. Analyze data related issues and identify root cause of issues / defects.
- Lead operational escalations from incident origination to close, plus any root cause, remediation, and prevention. Report incidents to management and stakeholders during incident lifecycle
- Improve operational stability via automation where possible, and raise design changes to data analyst, SMEs and/or architects, as well as opportunities to application/service managers
- Able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Major Responsibilities:
- Configuration and maintenance of FTP and profitability rules and T2Ts to transform data in OFSAA
- Ability to configure complex interest rate codes structures
- Troubleshoot technical issues by analyzing OFSAA log files and fixing the issues. Analyze data related issues and identify root cause of issues / defects.
- Testing in support of projects and creation of project artifacts as required by project life cycle.
- Production support of OFSAA, this includes batch runs and minor development requests to fix defects as required.
- Support projects per SDLC procedure - Perform analysis based on business requirement, design, develop, test and implement changes to Oracle Application and related interfaces
- Work with end user areas to understand requirements for profitability reporting and document those requirements in accordance with project templates including business requirements documents, design documents system process flows, test results and write test scripts for system testing
- Ensure all documentation such as data mapping, data lineage, functional spec, and any other technical documentation are detailed and up to date
Experience
- Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
- 5 - 8 years of IT experience, 5+ years of experience in implementing OFSAA v8.0 or higher
- 7+ years of experience as a business analyst in the implementation of profitability, fund transfer pricing and GL reconciliation solutions for large banks.
- Sound understanding of key processing dimensions, hierarchies and attributes within OFSAA Profitability solution
- Good knowledge of the end-to-end data flow and profitability calculations within OFSAA profitability solution
- Sound understanding of different cost and revenue allocation methodologies as it applies to profitability calculations
- Working knowledge of profitability reporting using BI tools like Oracle OBIEE, Hyperion Essbase would be a big plus
- Working knowledge of writing SQL queries and troubleshoot data related issues
- Flexible in managing competing priorities and objectives
- Ability to work independently as needed and Strong team player with a can-do attitude.
