Boingo Wireless is looking for a highly energetic and customer-focused DAS Operations and Maintenance Manager with comprehensive knowledge of DAS systems. You’ll support our Northeast wireless networks, including venues such as World Trade Center, JFK, EWR, and LGA Airports.
This is a hands-on role providing technical support and managing on-site field technicians. The O&M Manager should be confident, goal-oriented, and ethical. Possessing a strong desire to analyze, document, and resolve network and equipment issues.
Responsibilities
- DAS monitoring, performance, preventive maintenance, and repairs for Boingo’s Northeast venues.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, team members, vendors, and other departments to coordinate efforts across multiple business units.
- Generate annual maintenance budgets, evaluate costs, and generate action plans related to preventive maintenance for DAS, HVAC, UPS, Fire Suppression Systems, Generators, etc.
- Track and adhere to milestones, deliverables, and documentation in accordance with Boingo standards.
- Evaluate venue agreements to ensure that all SLA requirements are met.
- Provide cross-functional support for technical issues, training, remote monitoring, scheduled maintenance and outages.
- Provide technical and administrative support and direction to a team of regional Field Managers who manage Boingo’s activities at multiple locations in the Northeast regions.
- Ensure Boingo’s safety and ethics standards are followed without compromise.
- Manage all direct and indirect reports including setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing salary & bonus recommendations.
- Negotiate subcontractor service agreements including prequalification.
- Work with Boingo’s legal department to review and approve terms and conditions.
- Responsible for O&M development activities including work-scope, project budgeting, subcontractor proposals & agreements, and proper execution of deliverables during the construction and performance phases.
- Responsible for scheduling annual field education classes to ensure field technicians are trained on the current systems & equipment.
- Conduct regular trips to assigned venues to consult with customers, O&M field personnel, and subcontractors to ensure all networks are meeting scope objectives.
- Provide oversight, direction, and assistance to the field technicians regarding unplanned outages, contractual disputes, and labor issues.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Able to pass a 10-year criminal background check for all Airport ID’s.
- Knowledge and experience with DAS vendors, e.g., CommScope, TE Connectivity, Corning Mobile Access, and SOLiD is a Plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience training, directing, and leading technical field personnel.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess proficient oral, written communication, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the company.
- Excellent leadership, team building, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Strong project management and negotiation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office products.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering or equivalent) preferred
