On Site Service Technician - Level II

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented On-Site Service Technician to join our team specializing in Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics for our Orapa Site in Orapa, Botswana.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

• Customer Engagement: By engaging customers courteously and professionally, you'll build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
• Efficient Repairs: Using specialized tools and documented procedures, you'll diagnose and complete less complex repairs accurately, minimizing downtime for customers.
• Preventative Maintenance: Coaching customer employees on preventative maintenance and basic repairs will enhance their skills and reduce the likelihood of future issues.
• Issue Escalation: By escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors, you'll ensure that complex problems are addressed swiftly and effectively.
• Documentation: Completing required documentation accurately and timely will support warranty claims, quality control, and business operations.
• Continuous Learning: Completing training in line with skill and business requirements will keep you updated on the latest techniques and technologies, enhancing your effectiveness.
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintaining cleanliness and proper operation of your work area and tools will ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any issues will contribute to a safe workplace for everyone.

• Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans, using specialized tools and software to isolate and resolve issues accurately.
• National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Heavy Plant Mechanic: This is a fundamental requirement.
• Basic skills in Microsoft Packages: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
• Experience in Industrial and Mining Equipment Maintenance: This will be a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental International Standards: Familiarity with ISO45001 and ISO14001 is crucial.

• Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma or National Craft Certificate from relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit (Class B License)
• Basic level field service work experience
• High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)
• Customer service experience
