Department Overview
The US Federal Governments Markets Division (USFGMD) is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The USFGMD will achieve this with a professional, well-trained, diverse work force creating a positive and profitable customer relationship resulting in Total Customer Satisfaction and growth of our business.The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD On-Site Technical System Technologist, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world.
Job Description
- The applicant will need to be self-motivated and be able to perform with indirect supervision.
- Everyday maintenance of infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely manner
- Program APX/XTS/XTL series subscribers with Motorola Customer Programming Software
- Customer training on Motorola Land Mobile Radio Products. This equipment
is state of the art Astro 25 Trunking.
- Verbalize and communicate concepts and recommendations to the customers and within the Motorola organization.
- Deliver a detailed understanding of Motorola systems permitting the individual to assist in the design, troubleshooting and maintenance of Motorola’s product lines.
- Provide a thorough understanding of Motorola RSS/CPS software and how to program subscribers and infrastructure equipment.
Location/Travel:
- This position is a dedicated On-Site System Technologist working directly at our customers’ location in Downtown Washington D.C.
- Candidates must be based within 1 hour from customer site.
- Applicant MUST be willing to travel by air up 10% of the time.
Candidate Requirements:
- 3+ years experience as an Electronics/Field Technician
- Experience working with Motorola Infrastructure Technologies to include: Astro25 cores, MCC Console line, Radio Management, and third-party networking equipment.
- Experience with Motorola subscriber products
- Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certificate
- Strong networking skills (LAN and WAN) skills required
- Understanding of Information Assurance systems and Domain Administration in a network administration position
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be proficient in Motorola Customer Programming Software
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain the necessary security clearance level that is required by the U.S. Federal Government Contracting Office.
- Additionally, the potential candidate will be required to complete a Standard Form 89 Questionnaire for National Security purposes.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
