Job Description

Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, create, test, and ship better designs, together. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!

As an Onboarding Manager, you’ll support Figma’s most precious resource--its employees. You will set the tone of our values as they join Figma.  You’ll be a key member of the People team--acting as a strategic partner; you'll use your experience and creativity to build programs and resources to create a unique onboarding experience for our Figmates across the globe.

Imagine, the first day, week, month, of your dream job or first job or new job….. We each bring hope and nerves and a variety of emotions to that moment.  Now, you could be greeted by a “necessities only” onboarding like instructional guides, welcome videos, and friendly IT setup, but what if it was so much more! At Figma, we pride ourselves on our values and our culture and believe that onboarding is an opportunity to show our new Figmates what is uniquely Figma AND learn things that are unique about them.  At Figma, we champion an environment of belonging for our community of makers and believe that what makes you, you, makes us, us.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs, San Francisco or New York.

What you’ll do at Figma:
  • Build an in person, unique onboarding experience that can be replicated for our employees in our hub locations (New York, San Francisco, London)
  • Revitalize our remote onboarding content so that it parallels our in person experience
  • Collaborate with the People Teams to define processes, timelines and expectations for the onboarding program
  • Facilitate regular in person onboarding and train onboarding representatives in each office to scale a consistent experience
  • Incorporate global perspectives in to the onboarding content, showcase Figma international and the specific nuances per location
  • Advise Figmanagers on how company onboarding should be interwoven with team onboarding
  • Bolster our company culture in all interactions by modeling and instilling our values and promoting a culture of healthy communication
  • Collaborate with People Org counterparts to provide consistent and cohesive execution
  • Reports in to the Director of Learning & Development

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • Experience in a relevant Onboarding, Engagement, or People Partner role in a rapidly growing company with a global footprint that has both remote and in person onboarding
  • Strong and broad capability across PM proficiencies, including intake, qualitative and quantitative data synthesis, prioritization, creating resources like RACIs, project/ program plans, and change management plans
  • Proven ability to not only create but complete a plan end to end, and iterate as the needs change and company scales
  • Prioritize collaboration as well as action, ensuring commitment from partners and building trust
  • Passionate and pragmatic champion of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout all people programs
  • Superb oral and written communicator to many different audiences; you “read the room” and can be trusted to message anything with care and confidence
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

About Figma

Dylan Field and Evan Wallace co-founded Figma in 2012 with the vision of building tools for designers in the browser. Their goal was to create the first design tool that combined the accessibility of the Web with the functionality of a native app. Today Figma is a platform with tools and spaces to support the entire product development process—idea to design to build—and has simplified collaboration for companies like Microsoft, Uber, and The New York Times to name a few.

At Figma, we celebrate and support our differences. We know employing a team rich in diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions allows our employees, products, and community to flourish. Figma is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national orientation, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.

By applying for this job, the candidate acknowledges and agrees that any personal data contained in their application or supporting materials will be processed in accordance with the applicable candidate section of Figma's Privacy Policy.
