Online Marketing Manager
Job Description
Our web presence is our most critical marketing tool — it’s how new customers find us, research us, and choose us. Every customer journey includes a visit to our web site at some point. We’re looking for an Online Marketing Manager who understands that — and who has the analytics chops and the marketing experience to drive company growth. In this role, you’ll oversee the optimization of our Lightspeed Systems web sites to expedite the buyer’s journey and — working closely with the digital marketing manager —continuously improve the quality and quantity of inbound leads.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Ownership of web presence – You will “own” our web properties internationally, from building them to maintaining them to optimizing them, and you can clearly communicate strategy and plans throughout the department and company
- Data-Driven – you’ll closely monitor traffic, sources, visitor paths, and conversions in order to spot opportunities to optimize. Each week, you’ll be excited to deliver your weekly reports to show improvements
- Front-end experience – You understand web site UX optimization and will work closely with the marketing team and our designers to deliver quality, brand-aligned web sites, micro-sites, and landing pages
- Demand focus – You’ll be responsible for making sure the web sites don’t just look good and function technically, but deliver high conversions and high-quality leads
- Ongoing optimization – The web doesn’t stand still. You’ll understand our target customers and our products and will combine that with site metrics in order to constantly adjust content, SEO settings, and navigation to improve conversion rather and drive leads
ABOUT YOU
- You love the web – You’re passionate about the power of web sites to inform and persuade. You love the fact that with the web, you can update, test, and optimize quickly and constantly.
- You balance big picture and details – You can craft a comprehensive web strategy that drives to business goals – and then roll up your sleeves and make it happen.
- You are data-driven – You start the day in Google Analytics, but reviewing reports doesn’t stop with your first cup of coffee; you’re constantly referring back to data to guide every decision, it’s where you turn to find opportunities to increase results, and it’s how you constantly measure success
- You’re a marketer with technical and data skills, not the reverse  – You understand the nuts and bolts of the backend, but you approach the site from a customer and communication perspective, never forgetting that the web site needs to reflect the brand and drive demand
- You believe in continuous optimization – You know that with the Web, you’re never “done” and that small changes can have big results, so you’re always tweaking the key conversion funnels and measuring results. A/B testing is your answer to most decisions.
- You “get” SEO – You know the algorithms always change, but you know the keys to SEO and you follow the latest updates so you’re continuously optimizing for high rankings
- You’re an individual team player – Our web team may be small, but you’ll collaborate and work closely with the entire marketing team to understand our goals and how the web site can help meet them. (Plus, we’re growing!)
