This position is Remote.

How you will do it:

  • Conduct site visits of central plants to analyze current plant configuration, operation, and performance
  • Gather, cleanse, and process data from various sources and utilize data analysis tools and techniques to organize the data for use in OB CUP analysis
  • Use energy modeling/simulation tools to estimate potential savings from implementing OB CUP and other energy conservation measures
  • Use problem solving skills to validate simulation results and troubleshoot simulations
  • Following integration to plant automation systems, lead the process of commissioning to ensure OB CUP algorithms are dispatching plant in an optimal fashion aligned with simulation models
  • Troubleshoot through plant automation systems to identify issues during commissioning
  • Train and support plant managers' and operators' understanding of OB CUP software
  • Perform savings measurement and verification (M&V) analysis after OB CUP has been operational, write reports, and communicate results with customers
  • Provide Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly / Annual customer analytics reports communicating to JCI leadership the overall effectiveness, savings and customer impact of OB CUP by customer, local office, local region and region of the world.

About the manager

My name is Steve Snyder. I've been working in the energy engineering industry for 10+ years. My experience includes research, building energy simulation, inverse modeling and energy benchmarking, energy auditing/assessments of large commercial facilities, central plant optimization, monitoring-based commissioning, and HVAC engineering. My interests revolve mainly around applied data analysis and modeling related to the built environment. If you consider this role, we will work together to deliver an optimization solution to a variety of interesting central plant projects to help customers with their energy reduction and sustainability goals. Expect to be challenged in this role to learn new tools and systems, tackle complicated projects, make engineering judgements in the face of uncertainty, and conduct exploratory analysis to evaluate system performance. As a leader, I'm focused on continuous learning and development - both building our own engineering skillsets, but also improving our processes and products. I value candidates with strong work ethic and a growth mindset who will be creative, proactive, and detail-oriented in their work. I hope you're excited to take on this challenge and help Johnson Controls grow its Digital Solutions business!
