Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency power systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems related to facility and power feeds to equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues pertaining to facility power and feeds.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to maintain overall building systems
  • Respond to emergency situations and power outages
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives related to electrical systems
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes
  • Capable installing power feeds from panels to new locations
  • Work with local power utilities companies to coordinate power issues and resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in electrically  related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Operating Engineer with a strong focus on electrical systems
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and safety practices
  • Proficiency in using building automation systems and energy management software
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions

 

Certifications (preferred):

  • Valid Electrical license as required by the local jurisdictional
  • OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health certification
