Summary/Overview:
KBRA Analytics, LLC (KBRA Analytics) is seeking an Operational Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Content Management team in the New York office. In this role, you will play a critical role in ingesting, curating and managing US GAAP Fundamental data. This may include monitoring industry events and executing upon a variety of projects aimed at improving the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of our data. Content Specialists also provide support for internal and external clients that consume the data so you will be required to collaborate with multiple teams across the firm, making the role diverse and providing an opportunity for continuous learning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Extract and rationalize data to KBRA taxonomies in accordance with established methodologies
- Participate in projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of our data products
- Perform quality control to ensure data accuracy by inspecting KBRA data and comparing them to source documents
- Manage deliverables and communication with 3rd party providers and vendors
- Procure content to support best-in-class coverage of the data set
- Codify market conventions and/or data relationships into business rules for data validation
- Perform incident management, from troubleshooting and root cause analysis to overall problem management
- Contribute to continuous improvement by generating ideas to improve the data products and/or associated processes
- Participate in ad hoc projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of the data set
- Report on results of on-going operations and projects, as required
- Utilize subject-matter-expertise to set and maintain methodologies for data management
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Two (2) or more years of business experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics or Finance.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and other regional accounting and reporting standards.
- Previous use or knowledge of Business Intelligence tools including: Factset, Capital IQ, Refinitive, Bloomberg Intelligence, or MFM is most helpful.
- Knowledge of reporting pattern of fundamental data i.e. Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow across different countries, across different templates like Banks, Insurance etc.
- Good understanding of interlinking of Fundamental data with Securities Data, Corporate Action and Market Reference Data.
- Knowledge of different form/files types in which company reports its financial results like Annual filings, Quarter filings, 10K, 10Q, 20F etc.
- A good understanding of how investor clients use Fundamental Data.
- Experience working with databases such as SQL, NOSQL and willingness to grow these skills.
- Experience working with, managing or using financial data (eg. Company financial statements).
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are essential.
- Experience working with and/or managing 3rd party providers.
Salary Range:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 to $100,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
