Operational Oracle DBA

This role sits at the core of delivering and supporting mission-critical diagnostic and laboratory systems across complex healthcare environments. You will be responsible for the deployment, administration, and optimization of Oracle-based databases supporting enterprise applications used in clinical and diagnostic workflows. Working within a global, AI-driven and cloud-focused organization, you will ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of systems that directly impact healthcare operations and patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with service desk, development, and technical teams to resolve issues, manage upgrades, and support customer implementations. The position combines hands-on database expertise with operational delivery, customer engagement, and problem-solving in high-pressure environments. You will also contribute to continuous improvement of database processes, documentation, and deployment standards across global implementations.

Manage, deploy, and support Oracle database environments across enterprise diagnostic platforms in complex healthcare settings:

• Deploy and maintain Oracle databases supporting core applications including WinPath, PathManager, and related clinical systems
• Oversee customer implementation projects within a delivery environment, ensuring high-quality installation and configuration standards
• Provide database administration, including performance tuning, high availability configuration, backup, recovery, and upgrade management
• Collaborate with development and service desk teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex Oracle database issues
• Lead and support database sizing, architecture planning, and upgrade initiatives for customer environments
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call rotation to ensure system availability and operational continuity
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, installation procedures, and operational best practices
• Support technical sales and bid teams with accurate database specifications and technical input

Requirements:

Experienced Oracle DBA with strong technical depth and exposure to enterprise or healthcare environments:

• 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration, design, and support within complex environments
• Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, CRS, Data Guard, RMAN backup and recovery, and high availability architectures
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, batch processing, and database performance tuning
• Experience with Oracle tools such as TOAD and SQL Developer
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
• Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure
• Understanding of ITIL practices and project delivery methodologies
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure operational contexts
• Excellent communication skills with ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent qualification strongly preferred
• Experience in healthcare or laboratory systems environments is an advantage
