Job Summary:
Caterpillar is looking for an Operational Technology (OT) Security Engineer that will serve as the subject matter expert for an OT Passive Network Monitoring Cybersecurity Solution. A successful candidate will possess experience securing and supporting OT security solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Work within team of OT security professionals to support global deployment of Caterpillar's OT Passive Monitoring solution.
- Develop strategies to drive increased maturity within Caterpillar's OT security processes.
- Expert level proficiency with Caterpillar's OT Passive Monitoring solution.
- Understand how the solution works and drive process improvements.
- Track and prioritize all support cases with the vendor. Provide escalation when necessary.
- Provide tuning of solution to drive increased data accuracy.
- Collaborate with network teams to ensure solution is receiving network data.
- Collaborate with CSIRT team on OT security events.
- Research current OT threats and vulnerabilities to determine impact within the Caterpillar environment.
- Mentor junior team members on solution and OT security best practices.
What You Have:
- Security operations experience.
- Experience supporting IT or OT solutions, deployed in enterprise environments.
- Experience with automating solutions with code.
- In depth knowledge of networking implementation concepts (VLAN, Subnetting, Trunking, RSPAN, Firewalls, Segmentation).
- Ability to analyze network traffic utilizing common network analysis tools (Wireshark, TCPDump).
- Ability to move fast in an environment with ambiguity at times, and with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Prior experience with OT security platforms and passive monitoring solutions.
- Preferred but not required to have Advanced certification in OT Security, such as SANS GICSP or SANS GRID
- Networking certifications preferred but not required.
Degree and experience requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred.

- This position requires working within the office at least 3 days per week.
- This position may require 5% travel.
