As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and managing our financial processes.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Set up budget and key performance metrics for tracking in the Company’s Deltek Vantagepoint system. Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify variances. Work with senior leadership to review and update forecasts quarterly.
- Month-end Close: Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as needed. Collaborate with external tax accounts to ensure appropriate accounting policies are applied consistently and accurately.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax. Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary (planned for end of 2024).
- Audit Preparation: Prepare for and facilitate annual financial audits, working closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations (processes to be developed during 2023 with implementation planned for 2025).
- Financial Systems: Evaluate and optimize financial systems and software to streamline processes and improve efficiency. We use Deltek Vantagepoint for our accounting and performance system.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 5+ years in an accounting role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint, QuickBooks,) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced start-up environment and drive process improvements.
Base Salary is $125,000 - $150,000.
