Operations Analyst

First Merchants Bank is seeking an Operations Analyst to join our team! This position is based out of our Data Center located in Daleville, Indiana. This position will provide analysis and support to obtain optimal business value (efficiency and effectiveness) from the applications utilized by Operations, including technology and staff. Responsible for collecting the needs of the stakeholders (technology, end users, business units, management team, etc.) to solve business problems and identify process improvement opportunities through analysis and facilitation to achieve effective and efficient operations. Research and resolve incoming issues and complaints with assigned processes that negatively impact customer experience.

As part of this role you will:

• Monitor departmental metrics including key performance indicators to show team value. Compile data from various sources and present reports/information in a useful way to identify trends and process improvement opportunities.
• Perform periodic business process review/analysis in order to drive efficiency and fully utilize the features/functionality of all applications and/or systems available to unit.
• Gather, review and implement employee suggestions for improvement to assigned business processes.
• Facilitate upgrade/enhancement testing/changes by independently working with management teams to verify needs are well defined and changes are implemented seamlessly into the production environment to increase process efficiency and/or satisfy business needs.
• Partner with business units, IT and management teams to follow approved change management processes.
• Work with management team to design and craft new strategies and implement best practices.
• May be asked to lead small to medium size projects, including business process improvement projects.
• Update procedures and maintain online library
• Participate in projects as needed (application upgrades, mergers/acquisitions, etc.). Collaborate with other business units to lead, facilitate and fulfill initiative purpose and goal through standard project management best practices including feasibility research, identifying business and technology requirements, developing testing strategies to mitigate deployment risk to implement the best possible solution.
• Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans and models.
• Provide recommendations to management on new technologies to replace existing systems.

To be successful in this role, we require the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Over two (2) years of experience in a banking operations role.

The following would be a plus:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task between several projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exposure to and understanding of bank structure/operations (general flow of business).
• Previous experience in the financial industry.
