Job Description
The Role
The Fusion Professional Services team is responsible for successful client projects, a customer success program that drives client value, and providing consistent expertise to our clients through ongoing support. We rely heavily on our data and metrics to help provide guidance and insight into the health of our operation and track our progress as we evolve.
The Operations Analyst will report to the Senior Director of Professional Services responsible for monitoring leading indicators of success from PS pipeline forecasting, billable utilization, and project and department profitability to drive to proactive staffing, upskilling, and project success. This role involves direct, hands-on work with data and collaborating directly with the Finance, Revenue and PS Operations team for success.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Build, validate and maintain performance dashboards and reporting for weekly team monitoring.
- Validate and provide critical feedback into metrics being monitored by internal Partners.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management.
- Revenue analysis ownership responsibilities (month end close, variance and mix analyses) .
- Lead short- and long-term financial planning with PS Leaders and Finance team.
- Partner with Finance to create monthly Operational updates that encompasses all teams in Professional Services.
- Define and develop key analysis points, build models and generate insights to create recommendations which help address strategic issues.
- Collaborate with PS Leadership to drive the development of quarterly prioritization planning.
- Proficient in process engineering and optimization, process documentation, process training, and streamlining/automating functions.
- Drive Operations-impacting strategic initiatives as needed and assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience partnering with multiple business units, presenting recommendations, building out models and identifying opportunities to solve business challenges based on data trends
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and proactively recommending improvements or solutions
- Excellent organizational skills, including priority identification, multitasking, adherence to timelines, and quick adaptability
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proven ability to think critically, visualize how to translate into an effective model and effectively go deep into data to identify trends that data is signaling.
- Ability to think at both micro and macro level to understand how recommendations translate into bottom-line business impacts.
- Experience working with Salesforce is preferred
- Professional demeanor with strong partnering and effective relationship-building behavior
- Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications (Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree from 4-year university or equivalent in business experience.
- 3+ years' experience working with working with a Professional Services organization to provide data analysis related to capacity planning, billable utilization, and pipeline.
- Experience building out reports, validating data and applying critical knowledge to establish nuances of measurement and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or equivalent) required; advanced experience with using Excel formulas, functions, and pivot tables
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (or equivalent) preferred; experience with using both documentation and presentation tool
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word (or equivalent) preferred; advanced experience with using templates, change tracking, and document mapping
- Prior Salesforce or other CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform experience preferred
Milestones for the First Six Months
In one month, you'll:
- Complete training in Fusion's platform and other learning tools
- Initiate relationship-building with key internal partners
- Meet with primary Manager and other key Operations team members to gain insights and observations
- Shadow a variety of meetings and begin to familiarize yourself with Fusion tools, protocols, and processes
In three months, you'll:
- Begin to lead prep sessions for internal sync meetings and own presentation decks
- Take ownership of updating key tools used for measuring Operational metrics
- Build out and/or update simple models and enhance existing tracking tools, as needed based on data trends and business need
- Attend internal meetings with business partners to provide feedback and insight
In six months, you'll:
- Independently work on Operational initiatives, including reinventing processes, enhancing automation and procedures to provide easier access to data trends
- Participate in internal initiatives within Professional Services
- Take the lead in larger planning and measuring activities which provide greater Operational clarity and improvements
- Interact with other teams for cross-team efforts which affect processes, tools, and/or templates
