Operations Analyst I
Job Description
This is a hybrid position (approximately 20% of time spent in office)
• Provides testing support for system upgrades and government-mandated change orders. Documents results of testing and steps performed.• Works with appropriate business and technology leads to determine the acceptable range for test results and performance.• Troubleshoots user-reported system defects and educates users on issues that are not true system defects. Analyzes true defects and follows up with senior team members to resolve.• Gathers, evaluates, interprets, and analyzes data and business processes. Works closely with senior team members to develop new test scenarios to evaluate system defects and/or enhancements.• Assists with the evaluation of Enrollment department policies and procedures and recommends changes to improve the overall productivity and quality of department systems.• Identifies opportunities to improve system processes and recommends changes to streamline operations and/or automate manual processes.• Participates in projects that contribute to achievement of department objectives to be completed on time, within budget, and to documented requirements.• Participates in developing project plans, test plans, implementation strategies, and post-implementation plans.• Participates in reviewing business system requirements and scope and design documents.• Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Purpose: Under direct supervision, the Operations Analyst I tests changes to Enrollment systems and business processes. The Analyst assists in the design, development and implementation of test plans and scripts using detailed business requirements provided by senior team members. The Analyst performs preliminary analysis of testing results, suggesting potential causes for failure and potential changes to current business processes.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in researching and analyzing data for the purpose of process improvement is preferred. One year of health plan or health insurance operations experience, including participating on project teams. Experience in Enrollment, billing and/or claims processing preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables and formulas).
