Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Executes block trades for up to 15 investment management teams investing in equities, taxable fixed income and preferred securities.
• Supports trading and rebalancing thousands of separately managed accounts, ensuring compliance with model portfolios.
• Researches and corrects trading errors with sponsor firms under the supervision of department manager.
• Works closely with vendors and technology team to build and implement new order management system, trade communication hub and tax optimization software.
• Collaborates with Taxable Fixed Income portfolio managers to implement enhanced trading capabilities.
• Onboarding of new strategies, interacting with Portfolio Managers, setting of procedures that meet the standards of the SEC, Compliance and departmental requirements.
• Process improvement that includes the determination of downstream effects across departments.

Nuveen is seeking an Operations Analyst III, SMA Investment Operations. The Operations Analyst III, Trading Operations position is responsible for executing investment model changes on a broad variety of SMA strategies. Candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of trading and overlay management. All operational activities must be done with a very high level of understanding and proficiency. Working closely with the department manager, the role will manage key relationships with portfolio managers and institutional traders. The candidate will use their trading acumen to attain the best level of execution in a reasonable time. The position will be responsible for training junior staff as they join the desk. Candidates should have experience implementing new systems and automation technology. Nuveen is seeking an individual that can function effectively in an environment of rapid change and complexity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current or prior experience trading equities, taxable fixed income, and multi-strategy portfolios.
• Experience with overlay management of multi assets class portfolios.
• Investcloud APL (Expert and Windows) experience.
• Familiarity with corporate actions, portfolio accounting and trade settlements.
• Strong focus on leveraging technology to automate repetitive, tedious processes.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong problem recognition and resolution skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail in fast paced environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Base Pay Range: $75,000/yr. - $125,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
