Position Overview

Putnam is looking for an operations associate to join the Putnam Business Services (PBS) team. Reporting to the Resource Manager, the operations associate will support the day-to-day administration of people and project data and be a valuable coordinator of information across the organization. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Project Administration

  • Update project resourcing and assignments in Professional services automation (PSA) system.
  • Manage and review project schedules for accuracy.
  • Send notification confirmations to assigned project teams.
  • Review and approve project expenses.
  • Review and analyze timecard data.
  • Review weekly and monthly data integrity reports.
  • Log system incidents and improvements in ServiceNow and ensure they are resolved to completion.

Project Management

  • Manage and run project and people reports for weekly/monthly review.
  • Maintain data integrity by noticing trends or inaccuracies and providing solutions for streamlining reporting.
  • Oversee the administration of the staffing inbox and project launchpad queue and triaging and escalating inquiries and requests as needed.

People Operations

  • Provide support for Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives including Career Development Committee (CDC) reviews and annual training incentives.
  • Collaborate with onboarding team to ensure new cohorts are set up and managed in PSA.
  • Manage the administration and organization of the pod staffing tool.
  • Support staffing profiles and skills tracking in PSA along with system testing, release support, and tickets.
  • Conduct onboarding and offboarding procedures within the PSA system.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years as HR generalist/Operations generalist role or experience with employee operations in a professional services organization.
  • A strong service orientation with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity as needs of the business can change and the ability to pivot and reprioritize will be important.
  • Ability to work in a global team-based environment as well as independently to drive impact.
  • Experience and understanding of project scoping, resource allocation and management, and project planning.
  • Technical competence with Microsoft, Smartsheet, Salesforce, Professional services automation (PSA) system (preferably Certina/FinancialForce).
  • Strives for efficient and effective processes and improvement to allow for teams to work better together and for project managers to work effectively with operations.
