Operations Associate, Partner Sequencing Operations

The Partner Sequencing Operations team oversees the sequencing projects and process improvement for Tempusā Life Science and Research Institution collaborations. The position supports the client teams responsible for managing relationships with partner companies as well as with Tempusā Laboratory, Bioinformatics, Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams.Ā
Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
- Support day to day operational activities for multiple projects at a time, working with several Project Managers in the Partner Operations Team.Ā
- Manage accurate, high-quality collateral to ensure extremely organized documentation across all projects, prepare external-facing documentation, manage sample procurement and intake processes, and oversee lab sequencing operationsĀ
- Provide proactive, detailed client-facing materials for the Project Managerās client touchpoints and other meetings to support efficient external communication and project organization.Ā
- Coordinate with proper internal teams to ensure patient samples are moving appropriately through the workflow, on track to meet timelines, and any samples at risk are flagged proactively.Ā
- Own all triaging between internal teams about sample specimen requirement questions, missing Intake information, and impending delays in deliverables and reports.Ā
- Initiate collecting key metrics to assess sample performance across projects including samples received to date at Tempus, samples success rates in the laboratory, inquiries and reasoning as to why samples failed the pipeline.Ā
- Support escalation and resolution of critical project related issues, closing the loop and sharing lessons learned across the team.
- Contribute ideas and expertise to internal initiatives to enhance product offerings across Tempus teams and improve efficiency

- Is highly organized and systematic with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks across projects and internal Tempus teams.
- A self-starter with strong proactive communication skills, who likes to problem solve, especially in an ambiguous environment, and has confidence to ask key questions and isnāt afraid to step up to the plate.Ā
- Willing to understand complex process workflows and think critically to find solutions.
- Commitment to the success of a scaling team and brings a collaborative attitude and the ability to create strong relationships.Ā
- Skillful at working both independently and in team settings and comfortable with a fast-paced environment.Ā
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in the Healthcare industry, especially the ābusinessā side of science through prior professional or extracurricular experiences.
- Degrees in business, public health, science, or engineering.
- Relevant experience (1+ year) in management consulting, customer success, or other project management/client-adjacent role in a healthcare company is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Google Suite, Slack, Microsoft Office; highly advanced skills in Excel are especially preferred (including VLOOKUP, index matching, pivot tables, etc)
- Salesforce and SQL experience is a plus
