Contract Operations Coordinator
Location: San Diego (On-Site)
Capstan Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company dedicated to advancing in vivo cell reprogramming. The core platform technology comprises proprietary targeted lipid nanoparticles (tLNPs) that are composed of LNPs conjugated with a recombinant protein binder, such as a monoclonal antibody. tLNPs are designed to deliver payloads, including mRNA or gene editing tools, capable of reprogramming specific cell types in vivo. The platform technology has the potential to generate transformative therapies with possible applications across a broad range of disease areas, including oncology, autoimmune disorders, fibrosis, and monogenic blood disorders.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various operational tasks and ensuring the smooth functioning of our laboratory and office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of professionalism, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for maintaining a well-structured and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Work with internal scientific teams to support day-to-day laboratory operations and maintain lab organization.
  • Routinely receive and distribute items, including temperature-sensitive and freight deliveries.
  • Contribute to the accuracy of our lab equipment database by assisting in regular updates.
  • Maintain the availability of essential lab supplies, PPE, and laboratory gases and cryogens thereby facilitating smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Assist in preparing temperature-sensitive research materials for shipment.
  • Perform routine lab equipment preventative maintenance such as defrosting freezers.
  • Participate in the development of lab support operation practices and drafting of SOPs and work instructions.
  • Assist with biological and hazardous waste stream management.
  • Support the safety program by participating in routine safety walkthroughs to identify potential safety concerns or hazards and managing safety data sheets.
  • Uphold the tidiness and organization of common office spaces, encompassing breakrooms, office supplies, and conference rooms.
  • Maintain and stock breakroom and office supplies.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • A strong interest in acquiring expertise in laboratory and/or office operations functions.
  • Prior experience in a BSL-2 lab environment is desired.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the fields of science and biotechnology.
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technically advanced environment.
  • Exceptional team player, capable of collaborating effectively with highly skilled colleagues.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clear and professional interactions.
  • Impeccable organizational skills, coupled with an acute attention to detail.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, driven to anticipate needs and take initiative.

Pay & Perks Offerings:

  • $25 - $35 per hour depending on experience
  • Onsite Fully Stocked Kitchens
