The Director, People is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire People function, including developing and implementing people strategies, policies, procedures, and programs covering the entire employee life cycle. This role involves managing a team of HR professionals and collaborating with other departments to ensure that people programs and initiatives align with the organization's overall goals, objectives, and business growth. 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Develop and implement people strategies, policies, and procedures that support the organization's goals and objectives  
  • Manage a team of HR professionals, including recruiting, training, and supervising staff. 
  • Partner with leaders to evaluate current organizational structures and skills, org design, talent gaps, and hiring plans to achieve the company’s business goals. 
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including identifying staffing needs, developing job descriptions, and managing candidate selection.
  • Lead the performance management process, including developing performance metrics, providing feedback to managers and employees, and overseeing employee development plans.
  • Direct and coordinate employee retention strategies, including employee engagement activities and recognition programs.
  • Keep the organization up to date on current practices and changing regulatory requirements. Ensure we are up to date and in compliance with federal, state, and local governmental regulations and reporting requirements affecting company policies and people practices (e.g., EEO, OSHA, ERISA, and wage and hour regulations). 
  • Oversee and support the administration of the employee benefit program, including negotiating benefit plans and managing relationships with benefit providers.
  • Evaluate the cost of employee benefits in relation to employee needs and monitor the effectiveness of current health and safety programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address people-related issues and concerns.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary action, as needed.
  • Assure that the compensation program is competitive and equitable considering the organization's compensation philosophy.
  • Develop and manage the people function budget. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field with courses in human resources management or business administration required. A master's degree in business administration is recommended, but not required. 
  • 7-10 years of progressive people and HR generalist experience, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role is required. 
  • Strong knowledge of people practices, policies, and procedures. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement people strategies and initiatives that align with organizational goals.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion to deliver quality results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of intellectual curiosity, innovation and creative problem solving with an entrepreneurial spirit; can thrive in an agile environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to develop important relationships that foster trust and encourage diversity in all its forms.
  • Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. 

 Base Salary Range: 150K-175K
