The Operations Staff position is a key operations position within our Solution Group organization responsible for aiding in the management of the forecasting process as well as supporting various cross organizational interlock activities across our organization. The role aides with coordination and consolidation cross-functionally to establish internal financial plans and then forecast expectations as part of our monthly forecasting process. This person works with our development and portfolio project management teams to capture and track expense actuals and make financial model recommendations to help drive the company's growth strategy. The person in this position is skilled with project management fundamentals, budget planning, modelling, scenario analysis, and solution P&L building & benchmarking to evaluate business outcomes. The person in this role also works with several functions outside of Solution Group, including expense and cost finance leads, accounting team, business intelligence team, Sales Operations, and Supply Chain teams. The role will take on varying tasks from budget planning and management; to resource tracking; to driving/tracking Solution Group interlock and improvement initiatives. The person in this role must be skilled at working with employees from all levels of the business to manage initiatives that align to the Solution Group strategy
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Solution Group & Business Strategy, Business Intelligence, and employees at all levels of the business to develop monthly forecasts to meet our strategic goals.
- Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking including personnel resource tracking.
- Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
- Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
- Create recommendations to be presented to management and executives
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
- Defends forecast recommendations and develops a final forecast agreement with management
- Supports Solution Group Development and Portfolio initiatives. (KPI development, Process development support, Intercompany initiative interlock)
- Works with FP&A, Accounting, Business Intelligence, Solution Group & Business Strategy, Sales, Sales Operations, and Supply Chain employees from each level of the business to drive short-range planning 12 months out to meet our sustainability and growth objectives. Performs extensive modelling and scenario analysis and propose recommendations to functional management and senior leadership
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Degree preferred in finance or MBA with 2+ years related financial and accounting experience working in a fast paced, B2B multinational organization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously & be 100% accountable for the closure of all issues related to completing tasks ON SCHEDULE is critical to this role.
- A sense of urgency on a daily basis and strong communication skills are critical. A willingness to conduct business during non-standard hours to meet the needs of a global business
- Progressive commercial forecast and risk assessment experience
- Knowledge of local and international financial practices
- Strong management, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in using Oracle or similar ERP system.
- Familiarity with local accounting standards within each country including US GAAP
- Background managing fluctuation analysis of periodic financial results versus budget or forecast, versus prior period
- Must be a collaborator and team player and able to work independently
- Adept at partnering with a wide array of internal and external business partners and proactively identify solutions to complex issues
- Experience working in a global, matrixed company environment across multiple time zones
- Strong Microsoft tools skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint (requires executive level presentation skills)
- Preferred Skills: Technology company experience preferred and ability to extract data from primary systems and develop into useful and meaningful information
