Salary Range
$86,300 - $166,800
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
The Integrated Business Groups (10614, 10651, 10663, 10665, 10667 and 10668) are seeking Operations and Integration Professionals to apply mission knowledge and operation expertise to drive multi-functional solutions to complex operational challenges. Selected individuals will be placed in positions across the Center. Specifically we are seeking candidates to fill the OIP role supporting centers 1400, 6300, 6500, 6700, 6800, and 5100.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Lead cross-functional teams to design, implement, facilitate, and drive integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions to complex operational problems and/or align with mission/strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with technical and business/ operational partners to identify, plan, and achieve short- and long-term business and physical operational needs.
- Partner with management to drive and fulfill the Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) strategy, communications, and operations plan.
- Utilize broad expertise to partner with Center/Division leadership to execute diverse operations business goals in a variety of domains.
- Integrate between business operations needs and physical operations capabilities to deliver related solutions and accomplish them on behalf of Mission Center/Division.
- Utilize a broad network of operational entities throughout the laboratory to achieve business objectives and solve cross-functional problems and fulfilling solutions.
- Hold autonomy to make operational decisions on behalf of the Center/Division leadership based on expertise and deep understanding of mission needs.
- Provide project management within Mission Center/Division on group dynamics and organizational development initiatives.
- Lead efforts on operational aspects of the mission area, program, or project to ensure effective integration, optimization of processes, and compliance with accepted operating standards.
- Design, develop, and facilitate strategic planning and process improvements. Uses qualitative and quantitative data to develop strategies, goals and objectives, and detailed plans for long-range implementation.
- Partner closely with organization to analyze operations, processes, trends, resources, and projections to determine the most efficient methods to accomplish mission objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and customers.
- Develop relationships and participate in negotiations with internal and external customers on matters of customer requirements and limitations.
- Manage and assume responsibility for the coordination of financial planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on multiple budgets that may include ALD Budget, Operational Overhead, Indirect PM, NTESS Fee, Non-Base, and Training, among others utilizing the suite of sandia financial tools (including: ARC, Power BI, EBI, SSA, Excel, etc.).
- Lead a team of Business Integrators (Group-Level Business Leads) to effectively execute operational activities at the group level such as: financial planning, reporting, and analysis, forecasting, facilitation, resource management, workforce planning, policy guidance, creating business processes, and execution of data call submissions.
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Active DOE Q-level (or DOD equivalent) security clearance (the Center 5100 position require an ability to obtain SCI clearance).
Qualifications We Desire
- Strong education, knowledge, and experience in integrating with both business management and physical operations. Working knowledge of Sandia National Laboratories and the organization's structure; National Nuclear Security Administration; U.S. Department of Energy; and Sandia policies and procedures in financial areas such as budget formulation, construction, capital equipment, general plant projects, Strategic Partnership Projects, work authorization, cost allowability and cost accounting standards.
- Possesses a deep understanding of laboratory/DOE physical operations (i.e. facilities, ES&H, Logistics, IT, procurement) and matrixed organizational structures.
- Knowledge and experience translating strategies into specific objectives and action plans, aligning processes and systems to support strategic priorities and obtaining and allocating needed resources to meet objectives and deliverables.
- Knowledge and understanding of center and division vision, mission, goals, and strategic initiatives.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to apply these skills to resolve complex business or operational issues.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of and experience with common office software and required software for specialized functions, organizations, and programs.
- Experience conducting budget formulation, budget execution, financial analyses, funding practices and fiscal administration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively present detailed information in a clear and coherent manner, including the meaning and implications of analyses and information presented.
- Ability to integrate with leadership and interact effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel to build effective working relations, reach consensus, negotiate and address a broad range of business issues.
- Ability to integrate with technical project and organization teams and be a team player.
- Ability to work with sensitive information.

Security Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
