Eaton's Power Systems Division is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team. This position is located at our Waukesha, WI facility on Lincoln Avenue.

Position Overview:

The Operations Manager has broad responsibility and leadership for overall management of the assembly of 3PH Transformers. The incumbent will lead the implementation and execution of lean work cells to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified work force, and reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. This role will oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly expectations

In this function you will:

Technical Responsibilities:
  • EHS: Ensure that all EHS risk assessments (JSA, Safety FMEA, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, etc) are completed within the assembly operation appropriate standard work is developed and followed to address risks. Understand & lead the incident investigation process with supervisor(s) for any EHS incidents using root cause problem solving tools.
  • Quality Mgmt / Returns / Warranty: Ensures that quality procedures are adhered to and the quality objectives are maintained in order to meet the established standards of the finished product and customer expectations.
  • Delivery: Responsible to use and promote a disciplined root cause problem solving methodology to drive daily and strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPI) countermeasures and ensure long term sustainable results.
  • Lean: Leads, monitors and promotes the Eaton Lean Six Sigma(ELSS), and drives Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). Promotes and applies best practices found across other Eaton sites.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Basic Problem-Solving knowledge, including 5 WHYS, 8D and A3. Tactical KPI Counter Measure (CM) skills/Project Mgmt. - disciplined application of the standard CM tools and demonstrated results. Customer Complaint Mgmt. - linking Customer Complaints back to drive root cause & corrective actions
  • HR Knowledge & Skills: Responsible for mentoring talent and driving the performance management process, succession development, goal setting and alignment of metrics. Responsible for human resources policy compliance and development to meet legal and business expectations
  • Productivity Cost Management: Develop, monitor and manage the Variable Flexible Budget (Cost / Std.Hr) linked to planned Volume levels. Manage Project priorities and resource requests to drive Continuous Improvement.
  • Capacity/People Planning: Plan and coordinate capacity, manufacturing activities, and personnel into an integrated organization to meet actual and forecasted product delivery schedules and productivity targets

Utilizes various development tools in the process of self-development (e.g., Emotional Intelligence, 360 assessments, Meyers-Briggs or DISC assessments, being the recipient of coaching) in efforts to achieve sustained business results.

Develops relationships with other operational leaders both internal and external to the business and share best practices.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of experience working in an operations / manufacturing setting
  • Two (2) years of experience managing people (in either a supervisory or managerial role)
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business from an accredited institution
  • Green belt or higher Six Sigma certification
  • Understanding and experience driving environmental and health policies and procedures
  • Lean certified
  • Familiar with Quality standards
