Job Description

As an IT Operations Manager, you will manage multiple operations teams and projects and deliver solutions to the client. You will need to be knowledgeable of the Agile process methodologies to perform project initiation and execution.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead multiple operations teams overseeing complex Azure and M365 implementations which drive mission-critical customer business processes
  • Manage multiple projects and operations support teams simultaneously and deliver on-time solutions to clients
  • Oversee deployment operations and maintenance of Microsoft 365 Platform Services across all organizational levels. Develop the process and planning that will enable consistent routine customer upgrade plans in addition to any modifications or critical upgrades required by the business
  • Serve as a leadership expert for teams of 10+ support engineers and drive the team to enable incident management, remediation efforts, and root cause analysis
  • Ensure all procedures are documented and defined as required by quality standards including maintaining required documentation for internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with technical support leadership on escalations or requests related to cloud and managed services
  • Use knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, LAN/WAN, IP addresses, and Azure administration to complete a variety of projects
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours (evenings and weekends) planned maintenance operations and troubleshooting of critical issues
  • Able to manage a 24x7 hour managed services team
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to identify areas of improvement and turn them into solid areas of development
  • Ensure that project deliverables and activities are completed on time, to the specified requirements, and are of a high quality

Location and Travel Details

This is a remote position with occasional travel.

Profile of Success

  • Minimum 5 years of hands on software, data or infrastructure experience with recent in-depth experience with Cloud Technologies (Microsoft 365 or Azure is a plus) and minimum three years of technical project management or operations experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams of technical operations staffing a 24/7 capacity
  • A thorough understanding of an operations support model, with the ability to identify and implement procedures, schedules and tools to ensure success
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, including Microsoft Project and fluency in Microsoft Excel to analyze project and customer data, schedules, and produce professional looking documentation that clearly communicates operational concepts
  • Use an iterative approach to complete project-based work; Working knowledge of agile software methodologies
  • Must be a very clear both in written and verbal communications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer interactions, presentations, and leading meetings with attendees at the highest levels of customer organizations
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing technologies and networking/infrastructure concepts
  • Ability to grasp an understanding of new technologies quickly

Desirable Skills

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or PMI-ACP
  • Experience in running a custom application development engagement on the Microsoft technology platform
  • Security+ or equivalent certification
