Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES• Manage the day-to-day operations of the long-term care pharmacy• Work with pharmacy staff to develop the expectations and measurements to maintain operational standards• Motivate and challenge staff to complete jobs consistently with accuracy and speed• Responsible for achieving financial, service and quality goals• Lead regular department meetings with staff and inspire staff to maintain continuous quality improvement and support of company initiatives/goals• Evaluate and Drive financial performance• Oversee pharmacy prescription process flow, purchasing, contracts, packaging/pre-packing procedures, accounts payable/receivables, collections and reconciliations• Maintain standard operating procedures and ensure optimum staffing levels• Ability to develop and drive new business growth is essential • Promote communication and adequate information flow throughout the pharmacy• Assist in the development of quality improvements and prescription order accuracy• Promote open communications between internal and external customers, to enhance cooperative efforts, improve pharmacy production performance• Ownership and accountability for the successful completion of all pharmacy production/clinical duties and tasks and achievement of pharmacy branch goals• Responsible in gathering and documenting any and all pharmacy occurrences reports for QA/QI purposes.• Additional responsibilities as assigned• Responsible for the intake and efficient fulfillment of prescription orders.• Perform prescription verification duties to deliver superior patient care and customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree preferred

• Pharmacist degree and licensed in appropriate state(s) required at pharmacy location

• 2-plus years of long term care, specialty, large mail order pharmacy experience and related areas in pharmacy operations

• 3-5 years of proven upper level pharmacy management experience

• Proven leadership and change management experience preferred

• Experience in developing and manage operations quality metrics

• Must be willing to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge if needed

• License to practice pharmacy is required in the state of the position. Must also be willing to obtain licensure for multiple states as requested to maintain non-resident pharmacy licenses where required.
