THE POSITION

The Operations Manager directs the development and implementation of all Operations activities in the Distribution Center to meet safety objectives, production goals, quality, and cost objectives at the Allentown, PA facility, in support of Continental's Aftermarket and OES business. Primary goals of the position are to optimize the processes and organization of the warehouse in order to exceed customer expectations for order fulfillment, cost, and delivery.

The Operations Manager provides leadership, inspiration, and motivation to staff to achieve excellence. Assures the Operations team is meeting or exceeding targets for all Key Performance Indicators essential to the Distribution Center including safety, quality, on time delivery, and costs, and reports these across all areas of the business. Plans and administers procedures and budgets, and accounts for staffing requirements within the Operations team. Works closely with internal and external key stakeholders such as Sales, Finance, HR, IT, Purchasing, NPM Purchasing, BA Management, and external customers.

Core Responsibilities: • Develop, communicate, and execute departmental business objectives ($120M in sales and 150+ product lines) aligned with Business Area, Region, and Corporate goals & objectives.• Regularly monitor and communicate the effectiveness of departmental programs against performance measures and report local operational activities and metrics to the global SMY Operations department. Amend objectives as required to ensure compliance to established department performance targets. Assure that compliance to departmental goals does not compromise Distribution Center goals or deteriorate Distribution Center or company performance.• Monitor current and future demand and ensure the appropriate organizational structure and resources are in place to support the business objectives and customer deliverables. Review schedules and deadlines to effectively plan, organize, and execute required activities and projects of the area workforce and support personnel in the various functional areas of Safety, Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Procurement, Sales, and Purchasing.• Responsible for managing the strategic relationship and interface with 3PL's and remote locations supporting IAM product distribution.• Create an atmosphere that promotes and fosters a strong sense of teamwork within the department, and between the department and other Distribution Center and company personnel, customers, suppliers, vendors, and other company stakeholders. Team responsibility includes Warehouse departments (Shipping, Receiving, Returns, Value Added Services, Inventory) and Materials Management (Customer Service and Procurement)• Ensure the effective development of all department personnel by providing adequate training, mentoring, direction, and developmental work assignments necessary for the achievement of, and continuous improvement in all safety, quality, and financial goals and objectives.• Perform annual budgeting process and manage all elements of logistics cost to targeted levels on an ongoing basis; investigate, implement, and manage working capital strategic objectives by ensuring that inventory levels remain proportionate with revenues.• Monitor the hiring, transfer, and discipline of employees to ensure fairness, conformity of application of company rules and regulations, and to ensure a unified and cohesive application of personnel policy. • Maintain production records and monitor the records of individual functional Supervisors with respect to incident files and records pertaining to evaluations, absenteeism, tardiness, accuracy of time sheets, and production volumes.

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree• 7 years of Operations experience• 5 years of Operations management• Firsthand knowledge of global supply chain management• Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems• Extensive experience with high complexity warehousing & distribution• Experience with Value Added Services, line balancing, and lean concepts

• Master's Degree• 7+ years managing a Distribution Center• SAP experience a plus
