Operations Planning Analyst I
Cox Communications is searching for an Operations Planning Analyst I who will be responsible for measuring, analyzing, modeling and forecasting network traffic for Cox Business network. This role will be responsible for identifying infrastructure capacity needs, financial impact, and related performance. Network Planning Engineer will ensure data and process quality, clearly communicate results with numerous stakeholders and build trends and growth forecast based on historical data and business forecast.
This position will employ or engage with the following technologies: Various NMS (Network Management Software) tools and other application platforms such as Excel, Nokia Sam Service, CSAM, Granite, Hadoop, R, SAS, Alteryx, and SQL. Must understand network infrastructure such as DOCSIS, PON, FTTH, and multi-gigabit optical ethernet. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Managing all pricing and lead time changes in the BOMA tool - receipt of requested changes from SCM, provides regular reporting and analysis of changes to ensure leadership and boundary partners remain informed on product changes.
  • Tracks and distributes reporting on other miscellaneous product updates in BOMA - manufacturer and Cox Part # changes.
  • Acts as support contact for key boundary partners (SCM, EMO, INP Planning, TPS, WWT) for general inquiries regarding BOM submissions such as submission status, IO number inquiries and delivery status updates.
  • Processing cancellation, pull in, and partial shipment requests on submitted BOMs.
  • Maintaining all quarterly held BOMs from receipt from INP planner until formal submission milestones are met - Manages necessary revisions during holding period, works with SCM to identify risk analysis and trigger advanced purchasing, if necessary, reviews with INP Planning to identify required changes prior to formal submissions.
  • Maintaining all forecasted BOMs for following calendar year - Receives, reviews, and distributes to SCM for risk analysis and advanced purchasing to ensure requested delivery dates are met.
  • Maintaining forecasted BOM tracking report - Upon receipt of new or revised forecasted BOMs, updates tracking report and distributes revisions to SCM to ensure the team has access to necessary reporting for managing advanced purchases.
  • Processing all BOM submissions - When a BOM is ready to formally submit processes and submits BOM accordingly and assists in any necessary follow up until order is delivered.
  • Processing BOM prioritizations from INP Planning team.
  • Creating workflows for Materials Management internal processes.
  • Representing Materials Management team on weekly status call with boundary partners on submitted BOMs.
  • Provides BOMA product data for weekly BOMA/Oracle pricing discrepancy check and works to confirm identified pricing discrepancies are validated and corrected as necessary.

  • With guidance, presents data and provides recommendations to department leadership
  • Provide input to leadership on performance issues and operational process improvements
  • Uses and may program statistical analysis software

Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years' experience in a related field (IT, Engineering, Technology)
  • Robust communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
  • Experience in researching and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Experience working with large data sets, analysis and methods
  • Experience developing automated reporting
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications in a work setting with strong knowledge in Excel

Preferred
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Technology related field
  • Knowledge in process development
  • R/SAS/Alteryx and SQL or similar analytical database and coding skills
  • Experience debugging analytical code and processes
  • Knowledge in telecommunication but not required
