Summary:

The Operations Process Senior Associate is a key role on the Operations Strategy & Excellence Team. This team is charged with leading the most critical and complex cross-functional projects within global Operations to create bottom-line impact. Many of these projects directly support executive level initiatives and DFIN’s overall strategic vision. They require an advanced level of process optimization, which is where this role becomes critical.


You will be supporting the process optimization workstream on these projects to help drive efficiencies in the organization and improve the client experience. Since these projects span across many functions, you will work closely with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders. You will be building as-is process maps, analyzing them for optimization opportunities, and creating future state processes. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across the organization to build your problem solving, process optimization, communications, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis and design of new business processes including requirements definition, information gathering, and consistent documentation methodologies
  • Participate in workshops with cross-functional teams to define the specific business requirements and develop a unified approach across the organization, resolving any competing interests
  • Analyze methodologies for process improvements, better utilization of resources, product enhancements, improved communications, and faster issue resolution
  • Interact with functional leaders to understand business needs, identify the best solution, and architect the processes to meet the needs
  • Build process flow maps to document as-is processes and design new process flow maps for optimized future state, with support from your team
  • Serve as a change agent to implement process improvement across cross-functional teams and provide training to upskill teams on changes
  • Act as an advocate for your team’s functional business partner relationship, based on direction from your Business Leader
  • Thoroughly document all process changes and update relevant SOP’s or other reference materials
  • Execute a detailed project schedule and workplan
  • Take ownership of your work and drive projects forward, with coaching from your team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Information Systems, Business or related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in process improvement or a comparable role
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Financial Services, Service Operations, and/or Consulting is a plus
  • Proven track record of business process implementation working with cross-functional teams, including outsourced teams
  • Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, or comparable certification is a plus
  • Ability to build and analyze detailed process flow maps
  • Strong project management skills
  • May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software
  • High level of intellectual and analytical curiosity
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and process mapping tools such as MS Visio
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking when analyzing and resolving issues
  • Passion for solving tough problems and learning new areas of the business
  • Comfort working with potentially ambiguous problems and working on projects that are consistently new and challenging
