This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office an average of two to three days per week with the remainder worked remotely.
Team Description:
The Business Planning Team presents and provides guidance on Tokyo Head Office (Tokyo HO) Framework and Initiatives. Our team's major role is to work as a liaison of Tokyo HO and support various operations related initiatives in the Americas region. Americas includes not only US but offices in Canada, Brazil and Mexico. Our team also handles various reporting to Tokyo HO.
Job Summary:
The candidate will work in the division which is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring various initiatives and projects independently and/or co-working with business partners in order to enhance operations & system management framework and improve operations efficiency / accuracy.
The candidate shall be accountable for regular reporting to Head Office. Other administrative responsibilities may also be required. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of products and processes however require input on more complex issues. This position may require some overtime work due to time difference between US and Japan, and cross-department collaboration with all areas of the bank across the region and globally.
Major Responsibilities:
- Report operations' situation of Americas to Tokyo HO in regular and timely manner and find a good common ground between Tokyo HO and Americas.
- Promote global initiatives and make sure all the expectations from Tokyo HO will be met once it is agreed.
- Support to maintain the quality of operations in Americas' offices and make sure Global Policy and Procedure is applied to day-to-day operation.
- Report status to management on project progress and escalate related issues and risks - Project planning, resource estimation, creation of work break-down structure and scheduling of business related tasks
- Execute regular reporting to Management or Tokyo HO.
- Management for team budget and resource control.
- Coach junior staff.
- Build strategy to leverage the capability of the team.
- Promote best practices, standardization/consistency, simplicity, risk mitigation, transparency.
- Perform additional duties related to the position as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- More than 5 years of experience in operation area of financial industry.
- Proven history of working experience with a diverse working environment.
- Ability to proactively take an initiative to work efficiently and effectively on team-oriented projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including listening, verbal and written skills for well-organized coordination and socialization across multiple stakeholders.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to perform effectively and work independently.
- Ability to effectively convey ideas in various formats.
- Ability to lead related parties with different interests to reasonable consensus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Strong Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook) skill.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese or Japanese is plus.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $102,000 - $125,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
