The System-of-Systems Engineering (SOSE) Office provides a wide array of architectural and portfolio
analysis capabilities and integrates expertise and other system analysis and design capabilities from across
the Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) to support our customer's most challenging
acquisition, portfolio, enterprise, and cross-system architectural decisions.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO, and is not conducive to teleworking.
What skills you will need:
- Experience with mathematical optimization and simulation, operations research and/or M&S background with government such as NRO/SED, NOAA, ODNI and NASA
- Demonstrated ability to learn and operate large-scale quantitative models, and the potential ability to scale to support larger enterprise efforts
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and present statistically valid results: orally, numerically, and graphically
- A desire to continually learn and master new concepts and technologies, and mentor others on those new skill sets
- Ability to manage product deliverables (including work scope, definition, completion, and technical quality) with a high level of self-sufficiency
- Strong critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills - comfortable working in dynamic settings where task objectives may evolve or need to be shaped, or creative solutions to task impediments must be identified
- Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills, with the ability to write technical reports, present briefings, and present to audiences of all backgrounds, including executives or senior customers
- Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse team environment, establish and leverage a diverse professional network, and integrate contributions from a variety of resources (people, tools, organizations)
What You Need to be Successful - Engineering Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
- Current TS/SCI clearance
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, science, or mathematics from an accredited program
- 6 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/technical experience, including experience in a systems engineering, and/or operations research environment
- Demonstrated participation in portfolio-level analysis and architecting activities
- Demonstrated participation in multidisciplinary teams involving cost analysis, schedule analysis, risk analysis, portfolio-level trade studies, or budget build support
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and demonstrate initiative under pressure
- Willing to travel domestically 1-2 times a year
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
What You Need to be Successful - Sr. Engineering Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
- Current TS/SCI clearance
- Advanced degree in science, math, or engineering
- 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including
- multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments
- Demonstrated successful leadership of portfolio-level analysis and architecting activities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain
- effective working relationships
- Demonstrated successful leadership of broad, multidisciplinary teams involving cost analysis, schedule
- analysis, risk analysis, portfolio-level trade studies, or budget build support
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and demonstrate initiative
- under pressure
- Willing to travel domestically approx. 10%
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US
- government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Current TS/SCI clearance with Counter-Intelligence Polygraph
- Advanced degree in engineering, science, or mathematics from an accredited program
- Prior experience with Portfolio Analysis and/or Digital Engineering tools and processes
- Strong knowledge of systems-of-systems (SoS) engineering and enterprise architecting and model-based
- system engineering (MBSE) discipline (e.g Cameo), literature, tools, and processes
- Extensive knowledge of the breadth and depth of ETG's technical capabilities and customer base to include USSF, DOD, NASA, NOAA, ODNI, NGA, and NRO.
- Experience programming in Python and/or C++

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$103,200 - $152,200 - $200,900
Pay Basis: Annual
