Operations Risk Team Lead

We are seeking an Operations Risk Team Lead to join our Global Operations Risk Management Team in Global Technology & Operations in San Antonio, TX.

The Operations & Technology Risk Management Group encompasses the Operations & Technology Error Coordinators, IT & Operations Audit Management and Vendor Management Teams. Together, the teams are responsible for supporting AB's Operational Risk Management Framework across AB's Global Operations & Technology departments.

The Operations Risk Team Lead will lead a team responsible for responding to client risk events involving Operations and Technology processes. The candidate will manage team SLAs and the clarity and completeness of risk event summaries. The candidate will partner with our Client Group to protect client relationships, speak with subject matter experts to understand processes, and identify process weaknesses to help deliver a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a high degree of personal integrity and an inquisitive mind. This position will report to the Operational Risk Manager for Operations & Technology in the same location.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The team make use of our Error & Incident Tracking System, EITS, and a variety of account and portfolio management systems. Operations and Technology encompass teams performing new account creation, account reconciliation, security reference management, pricing & valuation, fund administration, broker dealer operations, collateral management, trade settlement and so much more!

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Act as "quarterback" for potential client risk events.
• Provide information and support to our Client Group to protect client relationships
• Bring subject matter experts together to conduct root cause analyses.
• Provide guidance on appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
• Recognize connections and trends within and across teams.
• Document the investigation and its conclusions.
• Collaborate with firm-wide error coordinators to share best practices

Qualifications, Experience, Education:

• Bachelor's degree
• 4-8 years relevant work experience in an investment management operations, business analyst, or risk & control role within Financial Services

Skills:

• Experience with risk management tools is preferred
• Strong project management skills
