BWXT is currently seeking a RTR Lower Tier Technologist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

The RTR Lower Tier Technologist supports daily needs throughout the RTR Controlled Area, Rolling Mills, and Clean Rooms.

Job Description/Duties:

• Coordinates and communicates Maintenance activities in cognizant areas.
• Processes associated change requests/SER revisions/etc.
• Generates RWPs on an as-needed basis.
• Leads efforts to identify and execute hardware/infrastructure upgrades.
• Identifies vulnerabilities and plans to address existing shop equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment with urgency.
• Interacts with OEMs to repair/replace equipment as needed.
• Communicates to Project Team progress on active projects as needed.
• Obtains quotes and generates purchase requisitions for hardware on an as-needed basis.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts for RTR Controlled Area, Rolling Mills, and Clean Rooms.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• A minimum of an Associate's degree in a technical field plus two (2) years of experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of relevant experience is required.
• Must be familiar with RTR Lower Tier shop operations.
• Must be able to lead small teams on limited scope projects.
• Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
• Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment is required.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
• Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
