SUMMARY

Responsible for all operations involved in slotted pipe.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
• Obtain pipe and packaging specification.
• Read and accurately follow blueprints and product/packaging drawings.
• Set-up screen saws and related equipment to different sizes according to specifications and production schedule.
• Clean and maintain slotting equipment frequently and maintain good housekeeping in the slotting area. 
• Checks parts for dimensions.
• Loads and unloads pipe at slotting saw. 
• Operates slotting saw safely and follows all work instructions and JSA’s.
• Assists with procuring materials needed for production. Must use tape measure, calipers, and feeler gauges.
• Notify Supervisor of quality and production problems/issues/deficiencies.
• Responsible for completion of production and quality paperwork.
• In the event of an accident or injury immediately notify the Shift supervisor on duty.
• Contact Maintenance Department to get equipment repaired when necessary.
• Ability and willingness to take on additional assignments as requested by management.
• Other duties as required

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable English words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between a series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $22.07 to $28.31. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
