Title: Optical Engineer
Duration: 1 year with possible extension 
Location: Onsite in Redmond, WA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week 
Role:
- Work in cross-functional teams with multiple disciplines (optical, mechanical, electrical, firmware, etc.) to operate and maintain lab tools and develop processes for the fabrication and measurement of novel optical elements.
- Build benchtop setups for prototyping and metrology.
- Optical design, verification and specification, building and validating the systems, characterizing and data analysis.
- Build system-level-based timelines and make sure they meet the needs.
Skills:
- Experience with building, maintaining, and operating precision optical lab systems such as lasers, LEDs, optics, fiber optics, electronics, and mechanical sub-assemblies.
- Background in designing and running experiments with precision optical setups.
- Experience with process design and iterative development, including data acquisition and analysis.
- Experience in Optical system design and alignment.
- Experience with the Design of experiments.
- Experience with Lab personnel and hardware safety (lasers, ESD, automation, etc.) 
- Experience with Data analysis using Python or Matlab.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Solidworks or Zemax
- Experience with Holographic exposure/interferometry.
Education: Bachelors or related experience.

Compensation offered will be determined by location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $60/hr - $70/hr.
